If the authors, in order to guarantee the state of the art, mention, in their theoretical framework, a minimum, but sufficient number of recent references (if up to 10 years) extracted either from national and international scientific journals; 4. If the references comply with the ABNT NBR 10520/2001 standard author-date system (p.4). The RBCBM publishes unpublished texts, in the form of articles that address scientific research, which are the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily express the point of view of the editorial board.

Peer review process

The RBCBM, by adopting the process of prior evaluation of articles, aims to improve them through collaboration with the authors. RBCBM only accepts an article for consideration if it is unpublished and is not being submitted to another journal. The evaluation process consists of two stages: First: a preliminary evaluation by the editorial board, which examines the adequacy of the work to the editorial line of the journal and a basic scientific quality according to the scope: Second: the evaluation by two referees for a final decision on its acceptance or not. The evaluators or reviewers are advised to present constructive suggestions related to the form and content, in a timely manner, so that they are published in the possible period. After approval by the reviewers, the article goes through a review of grammar, vocabulary, cohesion, clarity and fluidity of reading. The approved articles are taken to the meeting with the Editorial Committee for the preparation of the magazine. The author will be informed about the progress of the process via SIstema and E-mail.

Scientific editorial board

The Scientific Editorial Board or Editorial Board is made up of doctoral professors from different teaching and research institutions in Brazil and abroad, with academic recognition. Part of its members work in the different areas of the RBCBM, but in a non-collective way, that is, without providing for regular meetings (in person or virtual) to deal with specific issues. Following the model common to national scientific journals, there is no formal involvement of the members of the Editorial Board with RBCBM and Health Sciences in the responsibility for publishing the magazine. The participation of each member in the magazine takes place individually, through articulation between the Editor and the Editorial Committee. Scientifically, the members of the Council act as advisors to the Editor and the Editorial Committee, promoting the magazine, suggesting improvements in the editorial policy and strategies for acting in the academic and professional environment. Counselors are expected to express their opinion on the consistency of editorial policy and publications, their quality and on ethical issues relevant to editorial management and the dissemination of articles. Each member also assumes the role of “ombudsman” of the scientific community active in the area, guaranteeing the academic credibility and the expected posture of a scientific journal. As the Editorial Board is removed from the process of mediation of articles (not having access to the metadata of the articles under evaluation), it does not supervise or interfere in the editorial process, thus being able to submit articles to RBCBM and participating in the process like any other author.
